Product Introduction:
LTC5541IUH and LTC5542IUH are two high-performance mixer products, which belong to a series of high dynamic range, high gain, passive down-conversion mixers covering a wide frequency range. These two mixers are designed to meet the needs of modern wireless communication systems with excellent performance and flexibility.
LTC5541IUH is optimized for RF (radio frequency) applications from 1.3GHz to 2.3GHz. Its LO (local oscillator) frequency must be within the range of 1.4GHz to 2.0GHz for optimal performance. The typical application of this device is an LTE (Long Term Evolution Technology) or W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) receiver with a 1.7GHz to 2.2GHz RF input and low-end LO. The LTC5541IUH is designed for 3.3V operating voltage, while the IF (intermediate frequency) amplifier can be powered by 5V voltage to achieve high P1dB (1 dB compression point output power). It integrates a fast-switching SPDT (single-pole double-throw) LO switch that accepts two active LO signals while providing high isolation.
The LTC5542IUH is optimized for 1.6GHz to 2.7GHz RF applications, where the LO frequency must be in the 1.7GHz to 2.5GHz range for optimal performance. Typical applications for this device are LTE or WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) receivers with a 2.3GHz to 2.7GHz RF input and low-side LO. Similar to the LTC5541IUH, the LTC5542IUH is designed for 3.3V operation, and the IF amplifier can be powered by 5V. It also integrates a fast-switching SPDT LO switch that provides high isolation.
Both mixers have high conversion gain and high dynamic range, allowing the use of looser IF filters in highly selective receiver designs. This feature helps minimize total solution cost, board space, and system-level deviations. In addition, the LTC5541IUH and LTC5542IUH offer features such as shutdown pins, 50Ω single-ended RF and LO inputs, LO input 50Ω matching (in shutdown), high isolation LO switch, 0dBm LO drive level, high LO-RF and LO-IF isolation. They are available in a 20-lead (5mm x 5mm) QFN package with a small solution size.
The LTC5541IUH and LTC5542IUH are used in a wide range of applications, including wireless infrastructure receivers (such as LTE, W-CDMA, TD-SCDMA, UMTS, GSM1800, etc.) and point-to-point microwave links.
