The TMCS1101-Q1 is a galvanically isolated Halleffect current sensor capable of DC or AC currentmeasurement with high accuracy, excellent linearity,and temperature stability. A low-drift, temperaturecompensated signal chain provides < 1.5% full-scaleerror across the device temperature range.The input current flows through an internal 1.8mΩconductor that generates a magnetic field measuredby an integrated Hall-effect sensor. This structureeliminates external concentrators and simplifiesdesign. Low conductor resistance minimizes powerloss and thermal dissipation. Inherent galvanicinsulation provides a 600V lifetime working voltageand 3kVRMS basic isolation between the current pathand circuitry. Integrated electrical shielding enablesexcellent common-mode rejection and transientimmunity.The output voltage is proportional to the input currentwith four sensitivity options. Fixed sensitivity allowsthe TMCS1101-Q1 to operate from a single 3V to5.5V power supply, eliminates ratiometry errors, andimproves supply noise rejection. The current polarityis considered positive when flowing into the positiveinput pin. Both unidirectional and bidirectional sensingvariants are available.The TMCS1101-Q1 draws a maximum supply currentof 6mA, and all sensitivity options are specified overthe operating temperature range of –40°C to +125°C.
